Director of Chemical Synthesis

The Director of Chemical Synthesis will assume responsibility for the following activities:

1. Research and development of small molecules relevant to antibody drug conjugates (ADCs).
2. Process development pertaining to synthesis of linker-payloads.
3. Screening and optimization of payload and drug linker combinations.
4. Designing and executing synthesis pathways, review of novel literature, and characterization spectrum analysis.
5. Management of experimental resources.
6. Oversight of the chemistry laboratory, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
7. Resolution of scaling issues encountered during process development and tech transfer.
8. Documentation and tracking patented chemistries and novel molecules in our area of interest.
9. Assist Analytical Development with method transfer and qualification.

The desired requirements for this position are as follows:

1. PhD in Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Synthesis, or related field.
2. Working experience with innovation, research, and development in small molecule synthesis.
3. Experience with direct management of reports.
4. Experience with commonly used toxins and antibody-drug conjugates.
5. Experience with small molecule process development and scale-up.
6. Working knowledge of small molecule registration, shipment, and declaration.

Strong English communication skills (spoken, comprehension, reading, and writing).
